We’re giving lectures at Yrkeshögskolan Syd in Hässleholm

This week, we’re on site in Hässleholm! Over four sessions, Martin Wikerud from our support team is providing training for students studying to become construction engineers and site engineers at Yrkeshögskolan Syd. He is joined by Samira Sjöbeck, our Customer Relations Manager.

The students use Geometra as a digital tool in their education to learn how to measure, quantify, and calculate purchases in construction projects.

Martin’s lectures focus on how a tender process can work in practice – but above all, on how Geometra is used to extract quantities and build a solid foundation for a construction estimate.

Free licenses for students
We offer free licenses to students enrolled in courses where Geometra is a relevant IT tool. The license is valid throughout the study period. After graduation, a discounted license can be purchased.

Licenses must be registered by the responsible course instructor. We also offer various training options for students.

Hanna Paulsson, student, participated in today’s lecture. We asked her three questions:

1. Why did you choose this program?
   - To change career paths after working in education. The construction industry seems interesting to work in.
   ‍
2. What did you think of the Geometra walkthrough, and how do you think the program will support you in your studies?
   - It was very pedagogical and easy to follow. I believe the walkthrough will help me next semester and also during my internship.
   ‍
3. How do you see your future? What would you like to work with after graduation?
   - My internship will probably be the deciding factor, but I’d like to work in the construction sector – for example as a site manager, cost estimator, or something similar.

1. Why did you choose this program?
- It was hard to find carpentry jobs after graduating from high school, and I want to improve my opportunities.‍

2. What did you think of the Geometra walkthrough, and how do you think the program will support you in your studies?
- The walkthrough was good, and I hope it will help me in working life.

3. How do you see your future? What would you like to work with after graduation?
- I’m not entirely sure, but preferably something related to construction.
